1. Data Controller

The data controller for CoParent is Unchained Commerce GmbH, a company registered in Switzerland. unchained.ch

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, avatar, and content you create such as custody schedules, expense records, time entries, calendar events, and uploaded documents. We do not collect usage analytics or track your behavior.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the Service; to communicate with you about your account and updates; to ensure security and prevent fraud; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not use your personal data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is encrypted both in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We use industry-standard security measures, including regular security audits and access controls. Our infrastructure is hosted on trusted cloud providers with SOC 2 Type II compliance.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following processors to operate the service. Your family data is shared only with your connected co-parent. We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.

  • Vercelhosting and file storage (Blob)
  • Neon — PostgreSQL database
  • Clerkauthentication
  • Stripepayment processing
  • Resendtransactional email

6. Children’s Privacy

CoParent is designed for use by adult parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Information about children entered by parents (such as names, schedules, and health records) is stored securely and accessible only to the designated co-parents.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can export all of your data at any time in standard formats. Upon account deletion, we permanently remove your personal data from our servers within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Your Rights

Under GDPR and Swiss data protection law (nDSG), you have the right to access your data (export via Settings), rectify inaccurate data (edit in the app), delete your account and all data (Settings → Danger Zone), and port your data in JSON format (Settings → Export Data).

9. International Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers outside the EEA, to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
